Thank you with all my heart

Remember my Sony x BMS contest? Well, part of mechanics said that you have to buy Preview Magazine's September issue with yours truly on the cover (together with my Camille and Tricia) and write a message for me. I didn't expect all these messages to be extremely touching up to a point that I almost cried. No exaggeration! When I started blogging, I never knew I could actually inspire so many people- and you guys telling me this is extremely overwhelming. To all my readers, you guys are the best. If I can only meet each and everyone of you, I'd do it so I can thank you guys personally! Here are some of my favorite messages (it's too touching not to share to all of you):
Some are actually too small to read, my apologies. If you want to check out the other messages people posted online, click HERE. I haven't chosen the Sony winners yet, but will definitely do it this week! Thank you everyone for the effort. BMS.

Sony x BMS Giveaway (CLOSED)

I guess you can say this is the biggest blog giveaway yet- so be excited! But before I talk about the prizes and mechanics, I'd just like to share something  to you guys. I went to Guam last week (I'll be posting the photos soon) and didn't bother bringing an SLR with me. For the longest time, I've been looking for a digital camera that has the quality of an SLR and finally, I found one! Introducing Sony RX100- probably the most convenient camera you'll ever find. And get this, this camera was just launched in the Philippines just a few weeks ago, so be the one of the firsts to own one- I can't wait to show you my travel photos! Anyway, I'LL BE GIVING THIS CAMERA TO ONE LUCKY WINNER.
Aside from the Sony RX100, I also brought with me my Sony Xperia Acro phone in Guam. If you've seen my post about it HERE, you'd already know it's a scratch- dust- water resistant phone. I swear, it's probably one of the most amazing inventions created. Sometimes (for fun), I intentionally let the water of my glass fall on my phone and make it seem like it's an accident just to see their reactions haha. I went snorkeling in Guam and brought the phone with me underwater so you can see how much I enjoyed. I really can't wait to show you the videos!! I'll post it next week. So yes, I'LL BE GIVING AWAY THIS PHONE TOO. O diba?! Two of my favorite gadgets up for grabs! The mechanics are just a little bit more than the usual, but it's be worth it! There's also one requirement too, you have to have a copy of Preview Magazine- yes, this is a shameless plug hahaha.

In short, I'll be giving away ONE Sony RX100 and ONE Sony Xperia Acro. How to join:
        1. Like Sony Philippines' Facebook fanpage
        2. Follow Sony Philippines on Twitter
        3. If you have a copy of Preview Magazine, please sign on my solo page (found at the cover story section)
with your name and dedication for me then upload it on my Facebook fanpage
        4. Tweet, " The biggest blog giveaway yet! Win a Sony RX100 camera/ Sony Xperia Acro phone just by joining
           Laureen Uy's contest at www.breakmystyle.com "
        5. Tweet again and replace a word in any movie title with the work Sony Xperia OR Sony RX100
        6. Comment below with your full name, Twitter name and the link of the Facebook and tweets you posted.

Consider your entry cancelled if you don't follow all the rules. PLEASE only comment once because I need to approve it first before it shows on the comments box. Don't forget to take screenshots that you followed the rules for proof if ever you win. Contest period is from September 22-October 5.. That's two weeks for you to prepare everything (as if you need it because the mechanics are very easy naman)! I'll be choosing the winners on how witty they are with their answers and will be announcing the winners via my Facebook fanpage and Twitter account. Good luck everyone. BMS.

Preview Magazine: The Cover Shoot

Okay... Let me gather all my thoughts: G%#@W!&*J#A?<%P}=#^M<$*!!!!!!!!! Oh, I'm sorry, I just can't express how happy I am that I'm part of Preview Magazine's cover together with bloggers Tricia and Camille. I still can't believe I'm in a cover of a magazine- and it's not just any magazine- it's Preview magazine-- and not only that, it's their big fashion issue! Okay, dramatic I know, pero ibang level ang kaligayahan ko!! I almost fainted when they asked me if I can be part of the cover. I really jumped, shouted and nearly cried. I can still remember my very first feature with Preview: December 2009 with Agot Isidro on the cover and I was on the last page called "best dressed". I was so kilig with the feature and didn't expect I was going to be featured again as one of the best dressed women last 2011. Akala ko yun na yun.. so WOW.. Just imagine my joy when they asked me to be part of the cover. Again, thank you Preview magazine- you made my dream come true.
Here are some behind-the-scenes photos from our shoot:
Being made up by Pong Niu. She's one of my favorite make up artists! The peg was simple: FRESHNESS. Yes, ilayo kami sa usual blogger look namin, which is smokey and hair down, to a clean and fresh look.
The three make up artists: Pong Niu, Owen Sarmiento and Omar Ermita
I swear, I've never seen so many shoes for a shoot. The most I've pulled out for a shoot were only 15 pairs of shoes, and mine's are the affordable ones.. These ones are mixes of everything! I can even spot Louis Vuitton heels.
I get so kilig every time I see this photo. Being styled by my sister Liz and Daryl Chang and being art directed by my brother Vince. Okay fine, they're my siblings but it's still different in the workplace. May halong pressure!!!
Our dresses were origami-inspired and were made designed by THE Cary Santiago
I've never met him yet but every time I see his design, I fall in love with it.
It's nice to be working with people you love- and I mean working with the Preview team and posing with co-bloggers Tricia and Camille.
Photographer Paolo Pineda in action. Nakakatawa, everyone is so serious! Hahaha.
Of course, hindi magtatapos ang blog post nito kung wala akong thank you sa mga taong to:
Paolo Pineda for shooting us and April Lozada/ Tony Santos for assisting
Liz Uy and Daryl Chang for styling and Abby Aranda, MJ Benitez and Meg Manzano for assisting
Vince Uy for art directing
Pong Niu for my make up, Omar Ermita for Tricia's and Owen Sarmiento for Camille's
Mark Familara and Buern Rodriguez for our hair
Beauty and Butter for our nails
Karen Bolilia, Anna Canlas and Daryl Chang for the wonderful article
Celyn Jaravata, my lovely assistant who always takes my BTS/ outfit shots
And of course, Pauline Juan and the entire Preview team. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
And siyempre- never miss ang group shot after the shoot! Too bad Liz and Daryl left already, but at least we're still semi complete. Watch our BTS video HERE.
Please do grab a copy of the issue. The article is really interesting and it will make you learn more about blogging and the internet. And aside from our cover story, there are a lot more engrossing pages like Preview's top 10 picks of brands making their mark in the local retail scene, the designs of PEFTA batch 2011, amazing fashion editorials, etc. Thanks again Preview for putting your faith in us. And to my readers, I promise you won't regret buying an issue!
And by the way, did I tell you about the Preview AppBy simply downloading it for FREE, the country’s modern and stylish Filipina can get exclusive contents, write ups, illustrations and styling tips culled from both the September issue! Download HEREBMS.

Watch This

I really don't know why I'm only sharing this to you guys now. These are some screenshots from the video Stylebible took for the Preview Best Dressed List that I became a part of last 2011. I still get so kilig every time I remember that moment. If you want to know more about that event, check it out HERE. But for now, watch this video. Thank you Stylebible for posting it. BMS.

Mixed Emotions

(L-R) elephant necklaces from Giftsahoy and Le Papillion, Samatta card holder
Loving these animal necklaces. Very useful when it comes to piling on necklaces (like I normally do). To all those working people out there, you know it's standard you give out a card when you meet clients- then at some point you lose them because you forgot where you put them. Worry no more because this card holder is so fashionably light, you can bring it everywhere.
Contour kit and eyeshadow palette from Dashe Cosmetics
I can't get enough of colored eye shadows recently. It's funny how in real life I stick to browns and smokey eyes but on television I always play with colors. Can't wait to use these new palettes!!
Thank you Summit Media for sending my Candy and Preview magazine, I always love reading magazines- it inspires me to experiment on my look and be more creative. New notebooks, pens and a planner came in also. I love Muji!!!
 Brushes from Dashe Cosmetics
Soft and tender- parang love lang ang brushes na to! Not once did my skin hurt or have allergies when I used these brushes. I have the complete set at home so now this will be my travel set- I always have spontaneous parties and events to go to.
Nyx lipstick/Models Own nail polish from Digital Traincase
This new Nyx sweet pink matte lipstick will surely be everyone's favorite too. It's similar to candy yum yum (that we know is sold out everywhere).

I just love the feeling of getting new items, it's unbelievable!! Mixed emotions siya. Very Confessions of a Shopaholic lang ang peg. Haha. BMS.

PEFTA

PEFTA. Preview Emerging Fashion Talent Award. This time it was held at Manila Peninsula Hotel. I always love meeting new designers and their creations- it inspires me more.
 EIC Pauline Juan-Suaco talks.
Here are some of the pieces that caught my attention:
Ken Jamudio. I'm pretty sure those head dresses aren't easy to do. Love it!
Jot Losa. I would definitely wear this. It's the perfect combination of rough, edgy and sweet.
Kristel Yulo. Her creations are like the girls you put on top of a wedding cake. TAMIS!
Xernan Orticio. I loved his entire collection- everything was well made and thought of.
Seph Bagasao. This jumpsuit is so nice- I love that it's simple but striking.
Renz Reyes. Pang-event ang skirt!
Riza Bulawan. Definitely perfect for a wedding/ formal event.
Dan Duran. Inspired by pearly shells.. from the ocean. Strap bracelets and the black leather strips gave it an edge.
Erika Adona. Very futuristic designs- really caught my eye. I love what Ria Bolivar wore.
Daryl Chang calls out all the designers.
Congratulations to all the PEFTA designers!
Judged by Daryl Chang, Pauline Juan-Suaco, Inno Sotto and Robby Carmona, the winner was Xernan Orticio. Congratulations- You deserve it. BMS.

Preview 70's Best Dressed Ball

The awaited event of a lot of people- The Preview Best Dressed Ball 2011. June arrived and I could already hear people say, "what's the theme?" or "what will I wear?" Might seem shallow for some people, but life or death for most. hahaha.
With Anne Curtis, Divine Lee, Dong Ronquillo and Rajo Laurel. Thank you again Rajo for my jumpsuit!
The winner of the best dressed award of the night goes to Isabelle Daza. She borrowed her feathered top from her mom, Gloria Diaz. Yes, the top is originally from the 70's.

Look how full 7th High is! It even became fuller past midnight.
This year, Preview made a video of all the best dressed girls. Each girl had her own theme and moment.
Here's my girlfriend Pauline Prieto- such a sexy video.
My video was "cutie patootie."
Cover girl Iza Calzado was the last to go on stage. Loved her dress.

So sad I wasn't able to watch the program because we all had to go outside for photos op.
My sister Liz arrived fashionably late.
I think I like sibling photos haha. With sisters Ashley and Alodia Gosingfiao.
Unkabogable girls: Divine Lee, Gerogina Wilson and Vice Ganda
Raymond Gutierrez, Mike Concepcion, Liz Uy, Carlos Concepcion and Nicole Andersson
with my brother Vince Uy. Loving his 70's feel all night. (photo by Ayds Guadalupe)
