Shoes To Beat The Blues

Despite the unusually sombre air cast over Milan Fashion Week last week, it being the first since the death of fashion mogul Anna Piaggi, designers came up trumps with their latest catwalk trends for the autumn/winter season.

Gianmarco Lorenzi, among others, is favouring sculpt wedges this season, twinning them with sexy studs to finish off any outfit with a touch of sass. Bold florals will be big this winter with some gorgeous colours coming off the runway and designers really pushing powerful pattern- matching from head-to-foot.

Fans of Downton Abbey will be pleased to see that countryside chic is still big over at the Ralph Lauren camp. Expect tweeds, jodhpurs and woolens, all finished off with sturdy, heeled leather brogues in browns and blacks, buffed to an edible perfection.

Givenchy’s fold-over leather knee-boots were heavily featured in their sleek catwalk show this year, and they’re already proving to be a popular choice online. A knock-out look with any outfit, Givenchy showed them off beautifully, twinning them with a range of slick black skirts and trousers, highlighting the versatility of this innovative footwear.
Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen showed of a great range of feathered and furred footwear that’s sure to be a hit as the colder weather kicks in. The range also includes the signature skull pumps, which sees the charming addition of a Mohawk this season to add an extra touch of style.

A New You

I never imagined I would find flats this cute and comfortable. Crocs' new collection really surprised me. Not only are they incredibly pleasant to wear, but your feet will definitely feel like they're in heaven all day. 

 These pink cut out and red open toe flats are so cute and stylish! And of course, you won't be scared wearing it out on a rainy day because they're jelly flats. Yay!

 My overused pair of Crocs rubber shoes- you can tell because they're very dirty already, but I love it that way. If you're more the sporty type, get these instead. I'm not really sporty, but for some reason I love wearing these out. 

Now, if you prefer basic flats- here they are. I just realized I don't own a pair of black flats so imagine my happiness when I got this. 

When you step out of the house with a day full of work, of course you don't want to be stressed out because your feet are hurting or that you can't walk properly because of painful flats. Choose wisely, choose Crocs. BMS.

Don't you just find heels with designs in front the cutest? Really, they do make a statement. Shoes just incredibly makes an outfit extra chic- with the right pair on, of course. Showing you two pairs that's trendy this summer. Speaking of shoes..

You probably won't believe me, but Crocs just started their "New Crocs New You" campaign, and now their launching basic and cute flats/wedges that are fashionable and trendy. I couldn't believe it too! Personally, when Crocs was introduced here in the Philippines, I knew I wasn't their target market. Now, they're starting to revamp the look and feel- and I'm liking it. They now focus on trendy individuals that wants comfy footwear. I already have some flats I'm eyeing on.

Balancing Act

I was in the mood for a little shoe shopping and here are a couple of my favorite finds.

If you're going to spend on shoes, it's best to find a pair that has a classic shape and silhouette. A sure investment that will last you through the years. Like this classic pair of YSL tributes. It's my first pair and I couldn't be happier. 

This Alexander Mcqueen pair has a bit more edge with a mix of different elements: snakeskin, laces, buckles and gold studs. It's more fashion-forward and can add a surprising touch to any outfit. It's a pair I'll throw on when I feel like having a little fun. 

Find a balance in everything, and let your shoes do the talking. BMS.

I'm welcoming more flats into my closet because of taping. You really can't go to tapings wearing heels because you'll be changing outfits like crazy- plus you'll be needing comfy flats in between takes. Here are some of my preferred flats.

 I knew glitter shoes was going to be in this season, maybe because Christmas is coming very very soon. Last week I wanted to buy a pair of glitter heels but almost all the stores I went to didn't have my size. So I decided to make my own. 

What I used:

newspaper, glue, glitters and scissors

AND VOILA!

I've used these pairs many times already and I wanted to be creative. So if ever you get tired of your basic wedges and flats, always think that you can do something about it in the future. It never hurts to experiment! BMS.

Suelas x Laureen Uy

 I've been working on this collaboration with Suelas for the longest time. It took me months to prepare for these pairs. I was very hands on from picking the swatches, choosing which texture suits best to designing the flats- just so I can give you guys the best creations. 

Suelas is not just an ordinary pair of flats- it's known for its comfy, flexible kind. It's designed to be flattened, folded and rolled.. Actually perfect for travelling (it's also an emergency pair of flats you can bring anywhere).  

My designs revolved by the edgy functionality of a timeless counterculture icon- the metal stud. I designed three pairs of flats for every kind of style a girl has: feminine, edgy and flirty.
