Styling Tips

(Call It Spring hat, Topshop top/ shorts, vintage corset, Alexander Wang bag, Suelas x Laureen Uy flats)

So everyone's been talking about the Close Up Summer Solstice this Saturday and a lot of people have been asking for styling tips as well on what to wear to the music festival so I decided to do this post... So here goes:
1. Wear something light- by light, I mean choose fabrics that are breezy because you'll be jumping and dancing a lot. You wouldn't want to wear something uncomfortable, right?
2. Do not wear heels- well, sneaker wedges are an exception. Flats/ sneakers are probably the best options.
3. The smaller the better... when it comes to choosing a bag. Just bring the important things you need so your shoulder won't hurt the entire night.
4. Corsets are my favorite whenever I attend music festivals. Try it.
5. Don't wear accessories that will hurt you or cause inconvenience. Expect that the venue will be crowded and you'll be dancing a lot too so don't try and hurt anybody, especially yourself, with spike bracelets and all.
Speaking of Close Up Summer Solstice- please watch this video and learn more styling tips from me. I'm so excited to party this weekend! See you all there!!! BMS.

Singapore Day 2

(Super sunnies, Hat from my sister, Sheinside top, Marc by Marc Jacobs bag, Topshop shorts, Sketchers sneakers)

Singapore is an awesome tourist attraction with malls, shop houses, bars and boat rides found all around the city. It's a great place to relax, unwind and take a stroll because of the calm and peaceful scenery. I decided to wear this outfit because I wanted to feel stress free all day- and probably I wanted to feel like a kid again. I know it doesn't make sense but wearing this cute Bart Simpson sweatshirt really made me feel young again! Every time I go to Singapore I always remember to wear a comfortable outfit so I'll have a worry free day. I really did want my look to be a bit boyish and playful so I paired it with this wonderful hat I saw at my sister's place (and never bothered giving it back). To complete my get up, I wore my new pair of sneaker wedges (that's also unbelievably comfy) in order to achieve that childhood-rugged feel. BMS.

Balancing

(Alexander Mcqueen top, Girl Candies necklaces/ bracelets/ rings, Alexander Wang bag, Topshop shorts, Alaia booties)

This was what I wore when I went to the Philippine Star shoot. I wanted to be a bit more relaxed so I wore just a loose top and glammed up the entire look by wearing these amazing accessories from Girl Candies. Never really missing from the fashion scene, these arm candies really strike me with versatility and a clear sense of evolution. I used to love wearing just thick bangles but when I tried piling on these thin ones, I couldn't stop myself from doing it again and again.  It exudes an effortless style. These accessories gave me a youthful sophistication with attitude. Balancing a neutral top that expresses simplicity with an overall clean concept might be another smart way to highlight the powerful accessories I wore.
By the way, I honestly think this sweater will be one of my overused piece of clothing. Ever. BMS.

Under the Weather

(Goody hair tie, SM Accessories scarf, Plains and Prints polo, Mango jacket, Celine bag, Butintings ring, Zara leggings, Uniqlo socks, Cole Vintage flats)

Hello Hong Kong!! I love going to HK during this season because the weather is just perfect. Layering clothes is a must so I got this jacket at Mango (luckily it was 50% off too) that was just right for the weather here. Black will never be out of style and it's also something that will make you look classy in any occasion, so my entire apparel was black and I added pops of color like my scarf and bag just so it won't look boring. The studs on my jacket and the dots on my socks are a wonderful combination too. These pieces can be found in SM Mall of Asia. I love how SM MOA has everything you need.
I'll be posting more photos of my HK trip in the future, but for now- I just had to share these amazing photos that my friend Khai Van Kampen took of me. When I knew I was going here, it was a no brainer to get him as my photographer. He just takes photos as a hobby but you can clearly see that he has exceptional skill.
It's actually SM Mall of Asia's end of season sale and they're down to their last four days.. so hurry!! Aside from the clothes I wore above, expect the prices to go down until 70% off on selected items from participating brands like Shoe Salon, VNC, Kamiseta,  Bench, Lacoste, MAC, Muji, Calvin Klein, Charles & Keith, CMG, Bayo, Cotton On, Fino, Aldo, F&H, Warehouse, Dorothy Perkins and a lot more. Back to Black

(Topshop top, Mango vest, SM Accessories bangles/ rings, Zara leggings, VNC heels)

It goes without saying that the black can never be out of style. You can wear black pieces in so many ways. Notice how plain my top is in front but the back detail is really a surprise. It will give anyone that "subtle but sexy" effect- and it goes well with this vest from Mango too. I was so lucky to score this top at 50% off! I love sale items! The sequins are made beautifully and no doubt it's really an eye catcher. Its detail gave my look a classy appeal and its ensemble added character to my outfit. I paired it with leggings that has a touch of leather on the side.
All these pieces can be found at SM Mall of Asia.

Good Vibes

(SM Accessories hat, Jhajing necklace/ rings, Bayo top, Glazey Mode bracelets, Alexander Wang bag, Topshop pants, CMG heels)

This coming year, I wanted to be more passionate in dressing up- not that I'm not passionate about it, but I just want to lessen my lazy looks and focus more on experimenting again. I honestly think mixing chic and edgy will forever be my style. I chose this floral loose top from Bayo because it's colorful and catchy. It’s so comfy I can move as much as I want to. I also paired it with these Topshop floral pants. This is actually one of my favorite pairs because it shapes up my body and works well with most of my outfits. Paired with this girly CMG heels, it gave the entire look a vibrant and refreshing feel. I wanted my look to be more youthful and refreshing to attract good vibes for the whole year.
Hat, top, pants and shoes can be found at SM Mall of Asia.

Geometric

(Goody hair tie, Super sunnies, Jhajing necklace, On The Dot top, Giftsahoy bracelets, Alexander Wang bag, Topshop shorts, Sugarfree wedges)

It's really surprising how this On The Dot top works. The geometric pastel pattern makes it look soft but edgy at the same time, while the pads are such an effective tool to make some turn their heads to look at you. I've always been in love with shoulder pads- maybe because it makes me feel like I'm living in the early 70s or that it's just plain awesome. So I decided to work my outfit around this top and wore patterned shorts and striped socks and wedges. Talk about print overload, but I don't care! Plus, this outfit is perfect for this kind of weather: breezy and sunny at the same time- and speaking of sunny, Don't you just love me new Super sunnies? It's polarized and has a double purpose- it's fashionable and friendly and helps fight the glare of the sun.
